I sent my buddy Greg a link to the audio book from Project Guttenberg for a good laugh.
As he says here we were in the same English class in Grade 12 and, to use his term, "studied" the book. I'll agree with him that it's a slooooooow book. I think it would appeal to the same crowd that finds "art" in abstract painting... something like the paintings our Canadian government would pay $1,000,000 for but could be painted by a three-year old.
